Application Information
Awards are granted on the basis of:
1: Gymnastics Excellence (weighted at 40%)
The level at which the applicant demonstrates athletic excellence will be determined by the committee based on a review of the material submitted.
2: Personal Character / Contributions (weighted at 30%)
Components of “personal character” include (but are not limited to) integrity, humility, sportsmanship, self- discipline, work ethic, leadership potential and dedication. These traits are to be attested to in the letter of recommendation and interview.
3: Academic Record - Overall Grade Point Average (weighted at 30%)
A current grade point average of 2.5 on core courses as identified by your school’s transcript.
Please complete the attached application and required documentation to become eligible for the Michael Sims Scholarship. Be aware that the “Applicant’s Personal Essay Section” is a critical factor in the scholarship committee’s deliberations in choosing award recipients. The information that you provide will be considered confidential, but this application may be reproduced to share with members of the scholarship committee.
