Eligibility Requirements
Applicant must*:
1. Be a Texas resident of at least 1 year.
2. Be or was in the past a graduating Texas high school senior and continues to participate in the sport.
3. Make a commitment to attend an accredited institution of higher education.
4. Be a legal resident of the United States.
5. Not be accepting a Full Scholarship to an NCAA program, or other qualified higher education program.
6. Not have received the scholarship 5 times.
7. Complete 40 hours per semester that include 1 or more of the following:
a. Train in a gym;
b. Compete at 1+ meets;
c. Coach at a club (as a paid employee or volunteer);
d. Judge at 1+ meets (as a paid official or a voluntary second judge).
8. Must have two years experience competing at USAG sanctioned meets during high school. One of the seasons must have been their senior year.
*If the applicant does not meet the above criteria and submit their application by the required date, they will be ineligible for the scholarship.
Award Guidelines:
1. Funds will be sent to the applicant directly after submitting receipts for educational expenses and proof that Scholarship requirements have been met.
2. Funds must be used for educational purposes i.e. tuition, books, fees, etc.
3. A list of finalists for the scholarship will be awarded at the 8-E state meet, and the final scholarship recipients and amount will be decided after JO Nationals. All recipients will be invited to attend the award ceremony at GAT.
